Marketing Page
Redesign & Development
When I started working with Geobase, they had a simple "placeholder" landing page that vaguely showed what their main offer was and for who it was.
After researching and understanding more about the problems it solves and the people it serves, I redesigned the marketing page to be more clear and engaging.
And, as we continued working on the product, validated our assumptions, and got clarity on the value proposition, the marketing page evolved to address those needs.
Geobase Studio
Frontend Development
Geobase is built on top of Supabase, so a great part of my work consisted of improving the geo-side of the Supabase Studio UI.
Here, you'll find an example of the tile server page where users can see their active map tiles, get help from docs, and use the URL builder tool to get started with development.
Since many Geobase users come from GIS backgrounds and might not be familiar with Supabase or developer tools, I implemented an interactive onboarding widget that shows a video of a team member explaining different parts of the Studio UI, complete with a synchronized cursor overlay.
Instead of having to update tutorial videos whenever the UI changes, the widget's content can be easily updated within the Studio repo, saving us valuable time. Interestingly, I had implemented a similar solution back in 2017 for the AICA SignTime project - it's fascinating to see how certain solutions resurface in different contexts years later.
Blueprints & Demos
Developer Evangelism
A crucial component for devtools startups like Geobase is the ability to demo what you can build with it. To address this need, I created a series of blueprints and demos that developers can use to get started quickly.
Here are a few examples:
Blueprints are code templates designed to be easily extended and customized. I made them using Next.js and Shadcn/UI. The plan is to eventually provide a CLI that allows you to install geo-components in the same way.
Beta Launch Campaign
Marketing & Growth
Last January 2025, for our beta launch campaign I proposed we made a livestream where we do an AMA and live coding session where we extend the shareable maps blueprint I previously mentioned.
